Carpet Delamination

Water damages often cause delamination of carpet. If a water damage is not discovered and dried quickly delamination occurs.  The type of carpet also affects the rate at which delamination occurs.  For example those carpets with higher quality latex may not suffer from delamination as fast as those of lower quality. 

As you can see in the above picture the secondary backing has come apart from the primary backing of the carpet. Once delamination is apparent, SERVPRO of Athens will demo, or remove, the delaminated carpet.  The after picture above shows the outcome when you remove the affected carpet.  Once the carpet and pad are removed SERVPRO of Athens technicians place drying equipment to dry the remaining materials as quickly as possible to prevent secondary damage to your home or business.
